Pit Park People
Pit Park People is an Incorporated Society established in 1998 to assist the Palmerston North City Council with the future development of the Featherston Street Pit.
A working party is held at the Pit Park every third Sunday afternoon of the month starting at 1pm finishing at 3pm with a cup of tea. All welcome. Contact Beth for information phone (06) 356 3183. See Updates of articles and activity
This Pit lies behind the Skoglund Park soccer fields and Freyberg High School. It can be accessed from five different pedestrian accessways including Tweed Street, Thames Street and Featherston Street. There is a shared path as seen in the photo between Tweed Street and Featherston Street entrance.
This is a long term project that will be achieved through community involvement and effort. You may be able to contribute some of your time when there are working and planting parties there. Watch out for invites in the local newspapers.
