GLOBAL VOLUNTEER NETWORK

A national project to allow conservation volunteers from all over the world to enjoy and learn about our New Zealand environment while helping us enhance and protect it as well.

About 4 to 6 volunteers have been visiting Palmerston North for three to four days per month under the supervision of Toby Malcolm of the Global Volunteer Network (GVN). See website: Global Volunteer Network

In Palmerston North they have been assisting with:

  1. Planting for Green Corridors at Pari Reserve and the Turitea
  2. Tree releasing at Keeble's Bush
  3. Planting for DOC at Round Bush
  4. Snail monitoring in the Tararuas
  5. Possum monitoring
  6. Setting bait stations and refilling

If you know of anyone wanting to visit our country and do conservation volunteer work contact us or the Global Volunteer Network.
