From 1 December Giant Pumpkin Growing Competition - Urban Care, sponsored by The Tribune with seeds sponsored by Fruit Fed, is pleased to announce this opportunity to grow an Atlantic Giant seed over 3 to 4 months. See if you can produce a giant or even beat the record of 460 kilograms. Thursday 2 December A Community Seminar: "Active City" facilitated by Rodney Tolley, a foremost international transport and urban design analyst. Friday 3 December "First Friday" Bike Ride to promote cycle awareness. Meet at 5pm by the Clocktower in the Square for a 20 minute cruise through the town centre of Palmerston North.

Tuesday 7 December Community Connections "From listening comes wisdom" The Palmerston North City Council are holding an informal community forum as an opportunity for people to contribute their thoughts and views on the City's future. A chance to meet Councillors, let them know your support for our local environmental efforts and ask questions. Held 4.30 to 7pm on Ground Floor of the Convention Centre. The Tsunami of December 2004 - ENM wishes to commemorate and acknowledge the terrible loss of life and damage to those places devastated by the Tsunami post-major earthquake. A social and environmental catastrophe that will be remembered sadly.
