Middle Districts Farm Forestry Association

Middle Districts Farm Forestry Association is a branch of the New Zealand Farm Forestry Association Inc. www.nzffa.org.nz).

The Middle Districts branch was set up in 1956 and currently has over 200 members.  It covers an area west of the main divide from Waikanae in the south to Waverley and Waiouru in the north.  At the moment we are also operating in a partnership arrangement with the NZFFA Tararua Branch which covers much the same area east of the Manawatu Gorge as Horizons Regional Council.  Middle Districts holds 11 field days a year and is one of the most active branches in the association.

Farm foresters tend to be tree planters for all reasons, and there is strong commitment to environmental quality outcomes and conservation in much of what we do.  Many of our members have native vegetation reserved under Queen Elizabeth II National Trust covenants.
