Palmerston North City Council Election 2010

Environment Network Manawatu
Survey of PNCC Candidates

We asked mayoral and council candidates ten yes-no questions about actions they would take, if elected, to improve environmental sustainability (questions 1-10).

We also asked candidates to state their top three priorities to improve environmental sustainability in Palmerston North, what they do in everyday life to try to be more environmentally sustainable, and to add further comments (questions 11-13).  Thanks to the 26 candidates who took the time to respond, some answering in considerable depth.

We were pleased to see that some yes-no questions received 100% yes support from respondents and many received yes support from the great majority.  However it is important to view individual's responses to questions 1-10 in the context of priorities and explanations they have given under questions 11-13.

To see which mayoral candidates and which council candidates in your ward responded to our survey and what they said, click on our spreadsheet PNCC Candidates Survey Elections 2010(4).xls(61.50 KB)  Please note that you will need to click on some cells to view the full text of questions and answers.
