Mission

PNCET aims to contribute to Palmerston North becoming a more environmentally sustainable and vibrant city through stimulating and supporting activities that contribute to achieving this aim. We will work to generate awareness and deliver principled and effective advocacy for the environment.

Who We Are 

PNCET is an independent body established in 1991 by the City Council to enhance the natural and physical environment of Palmerston North.  We are supported by Palmerston North City Council and other organisations in our vision of our City becoming a more environmentally sustainable and vibrant community.  The Trust Board is a team of up to twelve with diverse backgrounds and a unifying interest in environmental sustainability.  For more info on our activities and achievements, including supported environmental sustainability project, education, and advocacy; you're welcome to browse our current annual report PNCET Annual Report 0809.pdf(72.29 KB) 

Funding for Environmental Sustainability projects in Palmerston North

We welcome applications for financial assistance for all types of innovative and environmentally-focused community-led projects in Palmerston North.  Access our the application form as an editable document from our website.

Applications must be made to the Secretary using the grant application form and include sufficient detail for assessment.  For any funded application, a report will be required on completion of the activity.

Recently funded projects include Reel Earth, Plant to Plate, Plant Nursery Training for Teachers, and sustainability education projects at local primary, intermediate and secondary schools.

To improve the environmental sustainability of our city, PNCET makes submissions to local government to ensure the best possible outcome for improving the health of our local environment and the sustainability and vibrancy of our city.  Your feedback on recent submissions is most welcome as we are continually seeking to improve our impact.  Recent submissions:
