Commemorative Tree Scheme

The Commemorative Tree Scheme seeks to recognise a special occasion and dedicate a tree or grove of trees to:

  • Celebrate a family event (e.g. new baby, wedding, christening, birthday, anniversary), or
  • Provide a memorial for a family or friend, or
  • Mark a visit or other special event for an individual, group or organisation.

Costings for a single tree are as follows

  • Planter bag size 95   $80.00
  • Planter bag size 60   $60.00
  • Planter bag size 20   $40.00

Cost includes planting, staking, fertiliser and maintenance for two years. Native group plantings can be arranged on request.

An inscribed certificate and plan of the site will be provided for you to keep. Copies are held in the Manawatu Tree Trust records and the Palmerston North City Library.

“The planting of a tree is a gift, which you can make to posterity at almost no cost and with almost no trouble, and if the tree takes root
it will far outlive the visible effect of any of your other actions, good or evil.”
George Orwell (1946)
