Household Hazardous Substances

New Haz-Wheel available!
The safe use and in particular, the safe disposal of these hazardous substances is of particular concern to the region. Therefore, the City Council has, in association with Horizons MW, Mid-Central Health and along with all other District Councils in the region, produced a 'Haz-Wheel' publication. This is available free from the Palmerston North City Council Customer Services Centre.

The 'Haz-Wheel' covers the safe handling, safe disposal and the safer alternatives of:

household cleaners, batteries, medicines, sharps, aerosols
home improvement paints, strippers, solvents, C.F.C.'s
workshop treated timbers, mineral oils, anti-freeze, p.c.b.'s, fluorescent lights
garden rodenticides, fertilisers, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides
Think next time whether there is an alternative that will not harm our environment and our soil which feeds us.
