Awapuni Nurseries is a family-owned commercial nursery located in Longburn. They grow a wide range of high-quality vegetables, herbs, flowers, native plants, and forestry seedlings for home gardeners and large-scale planting projects. These efforts help to sequester carbon, provide habitat, increase biodiversity, conserve soil, and feed the community.

They are continually improving their use of agrichemicals by implementing a more robust Integrated Pest Management (IPM) process, favouring soft products such as plant-based soaps, oils, and BioGro-certified alternatives, along with the release of biological controls. Additionally, they are investigating investment opportunities for a higher-efficiency production facility to grow more product with fewer inputs.
