The Volunteer Resource Centre Manawatu & Districts (VRC) is calling for nominations from community groups for their 6th annual Volunteer Recognition Events in June. Events will be held in Palmerston North and Levin, acknowledging the significant contribution of volunteers within the local communities.

Nominations can be made by any volunteer-involving group operating in Palmerston North, and the Tararua, Manawatu and Horowhenua districts. Groups do not need to be a member of the VRC in order to submit a nomination.

There are six categories in which volunteers can be nominated. These are general, youth, senior, migrant, corporate sector, and long service. Organisations can nominate up to four volunteers across the six categories.

The nominations will be assessed and selected by an independent voluntary panel who have not been involved in the nomination of any volunteers. They will be looking for stories that resonate – why people are volunteering, what impact this has had on the volunteer, and what impact this has had on the organisations and communities they are volunteering for.

Nominations close at midnight, Sunday 14th April. Awards will be presented at the Volunteer Recognition Events in Palmerston North and Levin and will be the first celebration of this year’s National Volunteer Week (16 – 22 June 2019).

It's an important event, an opportunity to show appreciation to volunteers and recognize those who stand out with their amazing work.

This year VRC are hoping for more nominations than ever. Submit direct on the website, or send the completed form to: info@vrcmanawatu.org.nz, and copy to events@vrcmanawatu.org.nz.
